Cherish
This is a relief sculpture created by Bill Mack.
"Calling my artwork bas-relief," Mack says, "is incorrect since bas-relief technically refers to low relief sculpture.  My art, in fact, has more physical depth than high relief; it incorporates various elements in full-round rising toward the viewer as in my "Illusion" image where her leg leaves the background extending into space.  Technically, sculptures combining various levels of relief and full-round parts are called 'Alto Relief' sculptures.  A similar technique has been used on classic Roman and Greek buildings.  However, until I offered my current collection of sculptures, this art form had not appeared to any extent in galleries."
Combining low and high relief, incised lines, and elements in the full-round in sculpture works that are light enough to be hung on a wall, Mack directly involves the viewer in a 3-dimensional experience, both textural and tactile, that is often startlingly real.

"Mack's art elicits an immediate emotional response," notes one critic.  "A moment in time is stopped, a familiar face revealed, the grace of a body in motion captured.  The viewer becomes more than an observer; he becomes a participant in the drama unfolding before his eyes."

I love this piece because I can feel the artwork. I feel the emotion and bond that is shared between this mother and child. It is beautiful.

Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet (Globe)

This is one of my all time favorites- Romeo and Juliet. I first seen this when I was in 9th grade. Before we watched this on the tv we had to learn to spell Shakespeare. It was taught to us in a song which had a beat to it SHA--KES--PEARE. I do not remember the song, but I do remember how to spell his name.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragic love romance that was played out on stage for all to see. It was beautiful sad and tragic at the same time.

Slow Fade Christian Movie Trailer #1

I chose this movie clip because I find it so interesting that whom ever is the constant in the film is always in focus, even when they shift from character to character or to an object. Everyone and everything else in the clip is faded softly in the back ground.

Amazing Tron Dance performed by Wrecking Orchestra [Better Quality]

I found this while I was looking for a dance. I thought it was very cool and different. It puts a whole new light on dancing and what you can do with it or add to it. It is amazing what ideas people come up with and incorporate into their choreography.

Barbie - a spoken word poem about body image

This is powerful and yet so true. We teach our little girls from a very young age about Beauty. We tell our little girls how beautiful and pretty they are. From the little stories we read our children, like Cinderella, we are teaching them about beauty. It is incorporated from the time they are toddlers and it follows them through life. The media, a lot of girls and guys try to be perfect, and no matter how hard some try, it is never good enough. When is it good enough, when do we ever reach that goal of being perfect? Is it really ever an attainable goal or is it a fallacy. Fashion is always changing and so is our expectations of what we should look like instead of who we really are. When is it ever good enough? Some people never find this place in life and it can end tragically. We need to build on this concept of beauty and not let it be just what we see, but who and what we are on the inside. The outside is just a cover, and you truly do not get to enjoy the real beauty of a person unless you get to know that individual themselves.

Modern Marvel

The Florida Polytechnic University Building, designed by renowned Spanish architect Dr. Santiago Calatrava, is a 160,000-square-foot white domed structure built in Lakeland. The oval building has a distinctive louvered roof system and is surrounded by a ring of curved metal pergolas that shade its outer terrace and walkways. A crisp clean visible building by day and a beautifully illuminated building at night.
This building is light weight made out of concrete, glass and aluminum. The ceilings move with different settings to follow the sun through out the day to control the amount of sunlight that comes in. And at night it is illuminating and just beautiful. The night shot of this university just caught my eye. The clean glass, endless arches and glowing effect are amazing. It took four years to build this university and 60 million dollars. It has been referred to as the new Modern Marvel. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did.
