Youth Mourning by George Clausen
This is an oil painting by George Clausen. It really jumped out at me because it captures the real feeling and how life can be perceived when you lose someone in life who is that close to you. All you feel is hurt, nothing matters around you, you feel as though you have lost everything including the shirt off your back. Nothing exists at this moment except for the hurt and sunken feelings inside of you. You have lost a part of you that can never be replaced. There is no color or anything going on in the background because when you experience this feeling everything is dark and or gloomy. This asymmetrical painting is put together very well and in my opinion captures every aspect of the grief this girl is experiencing. The background supports this painting and adds emphasis to the feeling.
